Assalam alaikum, 

Your Final DD Project Presentations will include following

1. Final Project Report (Background, Introduction, Problem Statement, Objective, Goals, Literature Survey, Your Work/Methodology, Case Study, Experiments, Observations, Conclusion, Future Improvements, References)

2. Presentation (7 to 10 mins for full group, Each member should present, Presentation will include short introduction and problem statement, your proposed architecture, improvements and live demo)

3. Hard form of your report

4. Hard form of your code

5. Screenshots of working product

Note: Students will also be judged based on their professional behavior, dressing and code of conduct. Students failing to present on their dedicated slot wont be given second chance. Anyone planning his/her absence on presentation days should sign an application from Dr. Maud. Till then no excuse is accepted. 

Following dates are possible for your final DD project presentations.

Project Weight-age will be counted both in your theory and lab. So kindly work hard on it.

Forced Withdrawal: WF

Forced Withdrawal: A student registered in a subject may not be permitted to continue due to shortage of attendance or other disciplinary action. Such students shall be awarded a “WF” (Forced Withdrawal) grade. It shall appear in the transcript as such, and shall not be used in computation of GPA. Subjects repeated after forced withdrawal shall not be suffixed with a “R”. A maximum of 32 credit hours may be allowed to be withdrawn, with a "W" grade, by a student during the entire duration of study for a Bachelor's degree. "WF" grade shall be counted as "W" grade for the purpose of this allowance

Verilog is not necessary. Any Hardware description language can be used. 

Some Examples of projects may include

Parallel processing machines, 

Pipelined processing machines.

Data Mining Update

Book: Data Mining: Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques by Witten I.H. and Fran E.

General Rule: Don't treat the classroom like a movie theater in which you leave after the intermission to get popcorn.

Attendance Rule: Attendance does not matter. It will not be taken.

Lab Details: Small tasks will be provided in the form of labs which we will have to do ourselves. These tasks will ultimately build up into the term project which will be evaluated in the end.

We will be working on the two platforms: Weka and Matlab.

Pop Quizzes are possible and will not be retaken but will be marked.

For the next lecture, study Regression Analysis in which pay more attention to Simple Linear Regression and just get an idea of Multiple Linear Regression. Sir may ask questions.

Study chapters 1 and 2 for quiz.

Lab Details: We will be using XiLinx software. The setup is worth 1.3 GB and it can not be emailed. I am trying to upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive but the prospects are terrible. Better to take it in USB from me. We must have it INSTALLED for the lab come Saturday inshaAllah.
The Lab will be on the first floor of EE Department.

Here are some details about the project:

1. Open the IDE.
2. File->New->Project
3. Family: Spartan3
4. Package: FT250
5. Speed: -5

Attendance Rule: For class, after five minutes from the start of class attendance will not be taken/considered. To sit for the exam, attendance must be atleast 75-80%. Otherwise Ms. Sahar will not allow you to sit for the exam.

General Rule: Pop Quizzes are possible.
